So it's been a busy week, yet slow at the same time. When I sit down to work on this theme, it's pretty new to me. At times I kept thinking different ideas in my head that it got confusing. Ideas like: "Should I do the same rhythm here at the chorus, or should I just do whole notes?" "What kind of voicing?" "Should a solo go here?" "This intro sound too light?" "I don't have an ending!"

Yeah...things like that.

Note, it's obviously a work-in-progress. But this time I thought I'd let people know how things work here in the studio. As you can hear, there barely is any orchestra.

For about 2 years now, on and off depending on the status and evolution of the project: Conquest Of Heroes. We're reached a point where the composers (consisting of myself, and Romeo Knight) are ready to write actual tracks for the game, rather than concept ideas.

A Conquest Of Heroes Theme has already been written before by myself, and now the devs are asking for a title theme. However, rather than your generic title theme you'd hear on the title screen where it's entirely instrumental, we've decided to make it into a fully fledged mainstream'ish vocal piece.

This piece will consist of a heavy orchestral style with very modern elements, including metal elements. The metal elements will be performed and recorded by Romeo Knight, as he is very skilled in this genre. Complete with a bitchin' guitar solo by Romeo Knight.

On top of that, there will be lyrics written by an undecided lyricist, complete with a female lead rock'ish vocal type (Amy Lee type) to sing it. This will take some recruiting to do in the future, but the most important thing is get the track done with all the bells and whistles.

I'm hoping this turns out to be a great project. As it'll help in the future. I have a lot of extensive experience in working on albums, but not so much with a metal element.
